My Thoughts
Lea writing style was easy to read and follow, meaning I could always keep reading into the wee hours of the morning. The story entered from about the eighth chapter. From there, I didn't want to leave her.
I liked the fact that Stella is a journalist who gives a course to students on journalism . It gives someone in the same situation a sense of hope if it doesn't allow them to push them down and take over life with both hands without feeling less than they are. The love story between Stella and Sawyer was fun and interesting to read.
I appreciate that Stella has good friends to rely on and how she overcame her personal rejection issues and decided to let her friends in. It was synonymous with real life and how people were damaged by past experiences.
From what I can tell, the theme of the book was to find out who she really is when she doesn't conform to a man's whims or personality. It's also about finding your signs and believing again in love and believing there are good men out there. And of course, there is a love story.
I often predicted what would happen next, especially with the drama in the history department. I loved Stella more than anything, but she angered me when she kept creating drama in her head before she even spoke or before she knew the facts. I do not like people like that, they are exhausted.
Sometimes I didn't know who was talking at the beginning of the book because it wasn't said. Other than that, the dialogue was easy to read most of the time. I like Sawyer because he's the quiet type and seems to fit Stella well. It is the calm of its chaos and vice versa. His friends were great, but they didn't have any real, distinct personality differences that set me apart. In general, I still like the characters.
The sex scenes were very graphic, so if this bothers you, you have to be careful. This book is part of a series and is the fourth volume. The story ends with the love story of Stella and Sawyer and the following book about the other characters featured in this book.
