First I will mention that this book contains some serious warnings of human trafficking and abuse and some violence and death. Now that these things are away! This book is epic. The story was beautifully written, the characters feel like real people as if I knew them and I'm very, very sad because the story is over - definitely wishing for a sequel or a sequel to the book. I loved that this book focuses on people of color, it brings a whole new life and culture to the story. The only thing that made me a little confusing was jumping into the writer's views, but I honestly wouldn't change it because it made it more intense and I could dive into the book. All in all I am deeply in love and can't wait to see Jasmine's future books.

Before she can get her life back, she must make use of everything she once was to take him down, end the cycle of bloodshed forever and return to a normal life of benevolence and family formation.
Negative note
This is a slightly violent thriller book that features non-stop action, although it is a story with a dual timeline that oscillates between the hero's past and its evolving present. Often times, this slows the book down or causes confusion. Fortunately, this first composer is able to keep up the tempo despite switching back and forth. For me, she did that because she introduced Nina/Eko as a complicated killer from the first scenes. Dual time charts occur in the hero's childhood (said in the first present) and adult present (said in the past in the third person). Scenes from her childhood make us better understand how she came to be and why events at the beginning of the book cause her to reflect on her motives and eventually change them.
The only problem I gathered from my personal reading of this book is that I think the description of the book should have listed the multiple triggers for it. While I appreciate that the author put it in the preface to the book, most readers don't read the preview before delving into the books, especially for something like first reading or other times where they can choose a book simply by author or how well the book works.
