Around the Cul-de-sac by Christina De Paris.

Around the 'Cul-de-Sac' by Christina of Paris, readers ride and discover slices of the life of a young Florida girl in the 1990 s.

A committed and adventurous character, Sydney weaves her way through experiences and the fun of family dynamics, the public school system, best friends and extracurricular activities, and interesting neighbors.

There are sixteen short stories, all featuring the same main characters, Sidney, who loves the lake ("Lagonella Girl") and her lower-middle-income family, with each story or chapter about an event or period in life of Sidney. This includes the week she had a complicated shoe swap with a school friend (Trading Footwear) and an unfortunate birthday party/divorce announcement over the weekend (Go-Kart Schematics). In 1996, the Grammy Nominees CD was dedicated to a full-page, full-page, and half-life performance of Sidney, his older brother Matthew, and his younger brother Wade of A Rose's Sales Kiss.

The main story is a complex and gripping story of Sydney playing Flogger on his summer bike and facing a brazenly abandoned front loader on the mysterious construction site across the street.

Loud noises from the computer present the fictional Microsoft Windows 97 “green hills screen” and the new world of the dial-up Internet. In The Family Next Door, Sydney is preoccupied with the abandoned but pristine neighbor's pool.

It wasn't long before the girl was bitter that the neighbor's more than enough bathroom was not used. Constantly outside, she tried to keep the pool in sight. She walked around his house based on what he called it - the loneliness by the lake, the forts in the woods, And paddling with her red boat, or going out to the street to see what's going on.

The innocent and fun first-person perspective gives insight and personality into Sydney's inner workings, and the level of detail in the storytelling is enchanting. A strong family bond, especially between Sydney and her two brothers, underlies most of the events. The stories, categorized as realistic fiction by the publisher/author, have a somewhat remembrance-like quality, with Sydney going through life's traumatic and confusing events while deriving solace from her strength and talents.

Despite the occasional disintegration and subject matter that sometimes turns mundane, the concept behind this book is solid and imaginative, and the characters, especially our young protagonist in all their restless, manic, and competitive glory, come to life.

This diverse collection of snippets from Sydney's life will resonate strongly with those who relish '90s pop culture memorabilia in this new collection.
