It was a dark and stormy night; Meg Murray, her little brother Charles Wallace, and her mother went down to the kitchen for a snack in the middle of a dark night in their cozy home when they were upset at the arrival of a more noisy stranger.
The stranger said to them, "The wild nights are my glory." "I just got stuck in a landing and blew off the track. Let me sit for a moment, and then I'll be on my way. Talking about roads, by the way, there's such a thing as a tesseract."
The tesseract (in case the reader doesn't know) is a wrinkle in time. Saying more would take away the reader's enjoyment of Miss L'Engle's unusual book. A Wrinkle in Time, 1963 Newbery Medal winner, is the story of adventures in space and time by Meg, Charles Wallace, and Calvin O'Keefe (an athlete, student, and one of the most famous boys in high school). They are searching for Meg's father, a scientist who has disappeared while participating in undercover work with the police for the government over the tesseract problem.
A Wrinkle in Time is a 1963 Newbery Medal winner. It's the first book in The Time Quintet, which consists of a wrinkle in time, a wind in the door, a fast-sloping planet, plenty of water, and a passable time.
A Wrinkle in Time is a Disney movie, directed by Ava DuVernay, and starring Storm Reed, Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, and Mindy Kaling.
